On Going Project
Clean Oceans through Clean Communities (CLOCC) is a community & network-driven program owned by Avfall Norge and funded by Norad (the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation).
The vision is to achieve healthy societies and a clean environment – through sustainable communities, green jobs, and business opportunities in local circular economies.
Empowering Change in Tabanan
The CLOCC program is currently serving three pilot communities in Tabanan, Bali: Bengkel Village, Dauh Peken Village, and Wongaya Gede Village.
Over the last ten months of mentoring, key lessons have emerged, including the critical importance of regional government commitment to any success, cooperation between stakeholders, clear policies, sustainable funding, and the need to drive community behavioral changes and attitudes towards waste management.
